Juan Ramón Curbelo

Juan Ramon Curbelo Garis ( born 2 May 1979 in Montevideo, Uruguay) is an Uruguayan football player. He plays in midfield mainly as a defensive midfielder, but can also function as left outside midfielder.

Club career

Juan Ramon Curbelo began his career in the youth of the Uruguayan first division club and CA Fénix. After a very good performance in the youth team he managed the beginning of 2001 the leap into the professional squad and established immediately after a few games in the team. In January 2004, he was obliged by Standard Liege. After two years Curbelo moved back to Uruguay. He opted for an engagement with Uruguayan champions Nacional Montevideo. There, however, he completed only one game in the Premier League within half a year. Therefore Curbelo left the club and moved in January 2006 to league rivals FC Danubio, where, however, he did not come to much more inserts. After a year he decided therefore for a change to River Plate. There Curbelo was again immediately regulars. In August 2008 he moved abroad again, after he had even completed a meeting for River Plate in the Apertura 2008. This time, he opted for an offer from the Mexican first division team Indios de Ciudad Juárez. At the end of the 2009/10 season the club was relegated to the second division. After missing out on promotion back to the 2010 /11 Curbelo decided by a total of 88 completed league games for the Mexicans ( five goals) to Uruguay return. Therefore In August 2011 he moved to Montevideo Wanderers FC. There, his contract was not renewed in the summer of 2012 after 22 Season duty work, where he stood each in the starting lineup, and in which he scored two goals. In mid-August 2012, he signed a contract then at his former club Nacional Montevideo. For the season 2013/2014 he was retired coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena, under which he was not successful to just as in the previous two coaches of Bolsos and moved to Club Atlético Cerro. There he graduated in the current season so far (as of March 21, 2014) in 15 games ( no goals ) in the Primera División.

National team career

Beginning of 2003, Curbelo has been nominated for the Uruguayan national football team and came on March 28 in a friendly against Japan's national soccer team to its first use for the national team when he came on in the 90th minute for Sebastián Eguren. On 24 July 2003 he arrived in the 3:4 away win again in a short minute of use from the 90th. His third and therefore last match, he completed - again as a substitute - on 15 August 2003 against the Iraqi selection.

Private

Juan Ramón has a younger brother Jorge (born 21 December 1981), which is also a professional footballer. In the 2004/05 season they played together at Standard Liege and in the season 2006/ 07 at CA River Plate Montevideo. He is also the half-brother Daniel Fonseca.
