Juan René Serrano

Juan René Serrano Gutiérrez (born 23 February 1984 in Guadalajara) is a Mexican archer. He fights in the Olympic discipline of recurve.

Serrano began as a 14- year-old with the archery. Just one year later in 1999 he was member of the Mexican national team. He won a number of national and international tournaments. In 2004 he took part in for the first time in Athens Summer Olympic Games. In individual competition, he retired in the second round to eventual Olympic champion Marco Galiazzo from a point of difference. With the Mexican team in the team competition, he reached rank 12

In 2006 he won the silver medal at the Pan American Championships in Rio de Janeiro in November 2007 and was second in the World Cup Final in Dubai. After he had discharged in Leipzig World Cup ended only ranked 70 in 2007, he secured himself with his win at the Pan American qualifying tournament to participate in the Summer Olympics in Beijing. He finished the first round at No. 1 and entered in the final round to semi-finals, but then succumbed to the South Korean Park Kyung- MO. In the battle for the bronze medal he had a disadvantage against the Russians Bair Badjonow.
