Juan Vicente Lezcano

Juan Vicente Lezcano ( born April 5, 1937 in Santisima Trinidad, Paraguay; † 6 February 2012) was a Paraguayan football player.

Playing career

Association

Defensive player Lezcano, called " el Mariscal ', son of the Paraguayan international's Juan Félix Lezcano and brother of also acting in the national selection Claudio Lezcano was. He stood from 1954 to 1961 in the Paraguayan club Olimpia Asunción rows. He was five times Paraguayan champions in the years 1956, 1957, 1958, 1959 and 1960. He then moved to Montevideo and was there from 1961 to 1967 on the squad in La Liga playing team Peñarols. There he won a total of five times the Uruguayan national championship in 1961, 1962, 1964, 1965 and 1967. In 1961 he won with his club also in the Copa Libertadores at the time still known as the Copa Campeones de América. He was the first Paraguayans, who won this trophy. Last year he was still failed with his previous club to his future employer, with Lezcano was in the starting in the final first leg. In the playoffs in 1961, however, he did not play. Another title win in 1961, the victory is listed in the World Cup. Lezcano did not contest these games though. In 1962, he reached with his club again the finals of the Copa Campeones de América, where the Uruguayan club to the Brazilian side FC Santos but ultimately had to leave the trophy. Lezcano was active in all three finals with. Again in 1966 reached the Aurinegros in the Copa Libertadores final round and defeated there, River Plate from Buenos Aires. Lezcano ran in all three finals. In that year, Peñarol repeated also the World Cup triumph. In this respect playout of the title against Real Madrid Lezcano also worked with. 1968 and 1969 he played in Argentina nor for Colón de Santa Fe. In 1969 he returned for two seasons for Club Olimpia before 1971 career ended in his last career station River Plate.

National

Lezcano was also a member of the senior national team of Paraguay, where he participated in the World Cup 1958.
