Juan Vicente Villacorta Díaz

Juan Vicente Villacorta Díaz ( born January 22, 1764 in Zacatecoluca, † November 1, 1828 in Guatemala) was a member of the first three Regierungsjunten the Central American confederation and 1831 Supremo Director of El Salvador.

Life

Juan Vicente Villacorta Díaz Juán Villacorta was Haciendero of San Antonio, Zacatecoluca with 1,088 manzanas = 760 hectares of Hacienda San Lucas Usulutan with 1,896 manzanas = 1,327 acres

On September 15, 1821 he was a signer of the Declaration of Independence from Spain. In 1823 he formed with Pedro José Antonio Molina Mazariegos and Antonio Rivera Cabezas a triumvirate called the first Government Junta of Central American confederation.

He was a member of the Constituent Assembly of the Central American confederation. As Member of Parliament for San Vicente, he signed on July 1, 1823 a declaration of independence of Central America from Spain, Mexico and all other countries. From 20 October 1823 he sent in support of Manuel José Arce y Fagoaga about 500 soldiers to Nicaragua in order to connect to the Mexico under Agustín de Iturbide enforce.

On 13 December 1824 Villacorta Díaz Supremo Director of El Salvador, his deputy was Mariano Prado Baca.

On April 20, 1825, he led papel Sellado for official documents, whereupon seal tax was collected during fights.
