Pulp (Latin: pulpless ) is plant cell tissue and is used to improve the dissemination of plant seeds. The pulp of different fruits and vegetables plays an important role in the diet.

Together with the embedded in the pulp seeds, it forms the fruit. The arrangements of the individual fruits on the plant are referred to as fruit stands.

In order for plants to spread their seeds over a greater distance, they often rely on animals. They surround the often indigestible seeds with delicious and nutritious fruit pulp. The animals eat the fruits with the seeds and excrete them undigested at a distant place again. Thus, the corresponding plant species spread faster.

Processing

By compression of the pulp fruit juice is obtained, in vegetables according vegetable juice.

By crushing and passing the pulp you win the so-called fruit puree, juices or nectars and the many other foods can be added.
