Jules André

Jules André ( born April 19, 1807 in Paris, † August 17, 1869 ) was a French landscape painter.

Life and work

André was born in 1807 in Paris, was a pupil of the painter André Jolivard and Louis Etienne Watelet. Later, he made ​​an extensive study tour of southern France and the Pyrenees.

1831 André was invited to participate in the great exhibition of the Parisian salons. At age 27 he made his debut there with a work that received an honorable mention from the official art criticism.
