Jules Roguin

Jules Roguin ( born September 17, 1823 in Yverdon- les- Bains, † October 6, 1908 in Plain Palais, home justified in Yverdon- les- Bains ) was a Swiss politician.

Life

Roguin studied law at the Universities of Lausanne and Heidelberg. He received in 1849 the patent attorney.

His first political office took Roguin 1852 to 1862 as a liberal parliament of the canton of Vaud true. Then he was elected in 1862 in the State Council of the Canton of Vaud and stood there in front of the Department of Finance. He had a seat in the government until 1866 and was re-elected to the Grand Council in the same year. He remained there until 1874 and now presided over the Parliament in 1869. From 1870 to 1874 he was Mayor of Yverdon- les- Bains and from 1863 to 1875 he was in the Senate, which he chaired in 1864 and 1872 as Senate President.

Between 1874-1890 he was a federal judge and then from 1890 to 1905 Associate Professor of Public Law at the University of Geneva. Next he was a Director of the Pension Company, from 1861 to 1872 in the Bank Council of the Vaud Cantonal Bank and from 1882 to 1892 on the board of the Lake Geneva Region Industry and Commerce Association.

Furthermore Roguin was a member of Zofingia. In the Swiss army, he was lieutenant colonel of infantry.
