Julian Bennett (archaeologist)

Julian Bennett is an English archaeologist.

Julian Bennett in 1991, received his PhD at Newcastle University on a topic of Roman Archaeology The title of his dissertation was The Setting, Development and Function of the Hadrianic Frontier in Britain. Since 1995 he is professor at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. His research interests are provincial Roman archeology and military as well as the Late Roman and Byzantine architecture in Anatolia. Bennett has written several books, including a biography of Trajan.

2002 Bennett was inducted into the Society of Antiquaries.
