Julius Frauenstädt

Christian Martin Julius Frauenstadt ( born April 17, 1813 in Bojanowo, Posen Province; † 13 January 1879 in Berlin) was a philosophical writer.

Frauenstadt studied in Berlin only theology, then philosophy, occurred in winter 1846/47 in Frankfurt with Arthur Schopenhauer in more traffic, the pioneer and editor, he was (called by this self " indefatigabilis "). He died on 13 January 1879 in Berlin, where he privatized since 1848.

Among his writings are noteworthy:

  • Studies and reviews on the theology and philosophy (Berlin 1840)
  • About the true relation of reason to revelation ( Darmstadt 1848)
  • Aesthetic issues (Dessau 1853)
  • Letters about the philosophy of Schopenhauer (Leipzig 1854)
  • Natural science in their influence on poetry, religion, morality, and philosophy (Leipzig 1855)
  • Materialism (Leipzig 1856)
  • Letters on Natural Religion (Leipzig 1858)

Used by Schopenhauer heir of his literary legacy, he not only published several CONTINUED to the latter philosophy titles, eg,

  • Light beams from Schopenhauer's works (Leipzig, 1862, 5th edition 1885), but also together with Otto Lindner
  • Schopenhauer, by him, about him (Berlin 1863)
  • From Schopenhauer's manuscript estate (Leipzig 1864)
  • The moral life (Leipzig 1866)
  • Glimpses into the intellectual, physical and moral world (Leipzig 1869)
  • New Letters on the philosophy of Schopenhauer (1876 ) and held on behalf of and according to the plan of the deceased, the first complete edition of the works of Schopenhauer (Leipzig 1873-74, 6 vols, 2nd edition 1877)

After all Schopenhauer's writings and manuscript estate he worked on the Schopenhauer -Lexikon; a philosophical dictionary ( Leipzig. 1871, 2 vols ). He also gave out light rays from Kant's works (Leipzig, 1872).
