Julius James

Julius James ( born July 9, 1984 in Maloney Gardens, Trinidad and Tobago) is a football player at the position of a defender in the right defense. He currently plays for the Columbus Crew in the highest North American Major League, Major League Soccer.

Career

Club career

James began his career as a football player in the football team at St. Anthony's College, which he left in 2003. From 2004 to 2007 he played in the football team of the University of Connecticut. James in 2007 was candidate for the Hermann Trophy, which is awarded annually for the best college football players and for the best college football player since 1967. In addition to that, he was Senior CLASS Award Lowe's finalist, as well as team captain in the same year. For the Huskies, the nickname of the football team at the University, he came at 63 completed games on six goals.

In 2006, he played a few games for the Westchester Flames of the USL Premier Development League.

In January 2008, James was the first pick of the MLS clubs Toronto FC in the MLS SuperDraft 2008. Until his departure to Houston Dynamo on 12 December 2008, he completed 13 games for the Reds and scored one goal. His transfer to Houston Dynamo came by Dwayne De Rosario changed in exchange for James to Toronto FC of the Texans. Overall, he came to the club from Houston in four games for use and was briefly awarded in 2009 to Minnesota Thunder, where he completed two games.

After this brief Loan James changed on 14 August 2009 to DC United. Houston was awarded an additional pick in the MLS SuperDraft, 2012. On 17 February 2011 James from United was released.

The Columbus Crew announced on 28 February 2011 James known to have contracted. He made his debut just one day later in the CONCACAF Champions League quarter-final against Real Salt Lake.

Internationally

Overall, James came so far to sixteen appearances for the national team of Trinidad and Tobago. He also has played for the U- 17 team from Trinidad and Tobago, where he among other things, during the U-17 World Cup in 2001 in his home country was used. He achieved this in the 6-1 defeat in the group stage against Brazil's U- 17 team an own goal. His debut with the national team of Trinidad and Tobago, he celebrated on 3 September 2008 in the game against Guyana.
