Julius Leopold Pagel
Julius Leopold Pagel (* May 29, 1851 in Pollnow; † January 30, 1912 in Berlin) was a German physician and medical historian.
Life
Julius Pagel studied medicine in Berlin. After graduation, he settled down in 1876 as a general practitioner in the city. He habilitated in 1891 in the History of Medicine. 1898 Pagel was appointed Professor at the Friedrich- Wilhelms-Universität. From 1901 he was an associate professor. 1902 Ernst Schweinger received the vacant since 1894 and hoped for by Pagel chair of medical history.
Julius Pagel was a member of the Wednesday Club.
His son Walter Pagel (1898-1983) was also a doctor ( pathologist ) and medical historian.
