Julius Martov

Life

Julius Martov, who came from a Jewish family, founded in 1895 together with Lenin, the St. Petersburg League of Struggle for liberation of the working class, one of the first workers' political organizations in Russia. In December 1895 he was arrested as a member of the League of Struggle and exiled to Turuchansk, Siberia ( 1897-1900 ). In December 1900 he was co-founder of the newspaper of the RSDLP, Iskra ( The Spark dt ) and was hers to 1901 as editor. He emigrated in 1901.
