Julius Rudolph Theodor Vogel

Julius Rudolph Theodor Vogel, also briefly Theodor Vogel ( born July 30, 1812 in Berlin, † December 17, 1841 on Fernando Poo ), was a German botanist and explorer. His botanical author abbreviation is " bird".

Bird was Privatdozent in Berlin in 1838 and in 1839 in Bonn. He participated in 1841 in the English Niger expedition, during which he died the same year on Fernando Poo at the age of 29 years.
