Jura (department)

The Jura [ ʒyʀa ] ( officially Département du Jura) is a French department of atomic number 39 It is in the east of the country in the region of Franche -Comté on the Swiss- French border and is named after the Jura mountains.

Geography

The department is bordered to the north by the department of Haute- Saône, on the east by the department of Doubs and the Swiss canton of Vaud, on the south by the department of Ain, on the west by the department of Haute- Saône and in the northwest of the Côte-d'Or department.
