Jurgen Faust

Jürgen Faust ( born 1955 ) is a German designer. He is Dean of the Macromedia University for Media and Communication in Munich and taught in the course Digital Media Production Design and Media Theory.

Life

Fist closed in 1979 to study chemistry at the University of Applied Sciences Reutlingen. In 1982 he had a degree in Fine Arts at the Academy in Nürtingen free and will conclude in 2011 with the Planetary Collegium PhD at the University of Plymouth, his dissertation. Theme is: Towards a comprehensive and universal design theory.

Faust began in 1986 as the co-founder, deputy director and lecturer at the Art Seminar Metzingen (now University of Applied Sciences Schwäbisch Hall ). In 1997 he became dean of the Institute for Art and Media at the University of Applied Sciences Metzingen. As a visiting professor he taught in 1998 at the Cleveland State University, USA. In 1999, Faust was awarded the Professor at the department of art, design and media design of the Cleveland Institute of Art (USA). At this time he was also appointed Dean of Integrated Media Environment, and was responsible for TIME (Technology and Integrated Media ). He was responsible for the redesign of the educational content in the print media, drawing, illustration, communication design, and biomedical communications. In the spring of 2005, he also assumed responsibility for the fields of visual communication, medical and scientific illustration. Subsequently, he conducted research and published in the transfer of design methods and processes into management.

At the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey ( Mexico), he worked from January to December 2006 as dean and from January to June 2007 as a professor design and theory. His focus has also been the transfer of design processes in other disciplines. Since May 2007 he has been Chief Academic Officer at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED ) in Milan (Italy ) and works as a professor of media and communication design at the University of Munich.

In 2006 he received the appointment at the Macromedia University for Media and Communication and was appointed in October 2008 to the dean.

Work

Since 1990, Faust has taught at design schools and builds Bachelor 's and Master's programs further. Since the late 1990s, he designed programs for digital media production, designed curricula in design and directs the development process and the implementation of his ideas.

Works by Jürgen Faust are in the collections of the district of Reutlingen, the city Weilheim an der Teck, the State Gallery Slowakia, Ludwig Museum Koblenz and the Cleveland Museum of Art
