Jürgen Kröger

Juergen Kroeger ( born November 16, 1856 in Haale, † February 27, 1928 in Aukrug ) was a German architect, he was entitled " ( imperial ) Baurat " and is primarily known as a Protestant church architect. The local poet Timm Kroeger was his uncle.

Life

1873 Kroger began an apprenticeship with a master carpenter Göttsche in Hohenwestedt. The Baugewerkeschule in Eckernförde he graduated in 1880 with honors. He then worked as a construction engineer at a construction division of the War Department in Hamburg- Altona, before the famous architect John Otzen 1882 brought him into his office to Berlin. There he made in 1888 independently and created in the following decades, especially numerous Protestant churches, the beginning is preferably in neo-Gothic style. His greatest achievements included the building of the main station of Metz. At the inauguration on August 17, 1908, Kaiser Wilhelm II, who appointed Kroger a few days later to the imperial government building officer appeared.
