Jürgen Wähling

Jürgen Wähling (December 6, 1940 in Hamburg ) is a German football player and football coach.

Sporting career

Appointed as a youth player of the Hamburg Association Green-White 07 in the DFB youth team, he was commissioned in 1960 to Switzerland, where he was as a player until 1964 when FC Luzern active. Back in Germany, Jürgen Wähling played from 1964 in the Regionalliga Berlin und1965/66 a season in the Bundesliga: For the team of SC Tasmania 1900 Berlin, he brought it there until 1967 on 34 missions, of which twelve appearances in the Bundesliga where he shot a goal in the Regionalliga. Tasmania played only one season in the top flight football and went down in the history of the Bundesliga football: the team moved from sports to political reasons in the Bundesliga, Hertha BSC since the license was revoked. Tasmania rose with 8:60 points and 15:108 gates again immediately and continues until today some negative records in the Bundesliga. Successful Jürgen Wähling was as a coach. From 1970-1971 he coached the selection of the Hamburg Football Association. From 1972-1974 he coached the amateurs of SV Werder Bremen. From 1974 Wähling worked as a trainer in Denmark and there celebrated numerous successes, including the 1986 Danish football championship with Aarhus GF. From 1986 to 1988 was Wähling coach of Hannover 96 Hannover was 1985/86 relegated from the Bundesliga and signed him with the aim of creating direct resurgence. Wähling was as calm and level-headed reinforced the team with experienced players and coaches. For the start of the season 1986 Hanover was his favorite role in the 2nd Bundesliga justice and was the winter break sovereign at the top. In the second half the team was nervous, but managed nevertheless as First prize promotion to the Bundesliga. In the season 1987/88 Jürgen Wähling reached number ten in the Bundesliga with Hannover. 1988/89 launched Hannover but with a series of nine games without a win in a row, which led to the sacking of Jürgen Wähling.

After his time as a Bundesliga coach Jurgen Wähling worked for various clubs in different positions, including up in 1996 as a manager at FC St. Pauli and Turkey in 1999 as coach of Trabzonspor.
