Justinus Darmojuwono

Justin Cardinal Darmojuwono ( born November 2, 1914 in Godean, Indonesia, † February 3, 1994 in Semarang, Indonesia) was Archbishop of Semarang.

Life

Justin Darmojuwono received on 25 May 1947, the then Vicar Apostolic of Semarang, Albert Soegijapranata SJ, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On December 10, 1963 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Archbishop of Semarang. He received his episcopal consecration on 6 April 1964, the Internuncio in Indonesia, Archbishop Ottavio De Liva; Co-consecrators were the Archbishop of Jakarta, Adrianus Djajasepoetra SJ, and the Bishop of Denpasar, Paul Sani Kleden SVD. On July 8, 1964 Justin Darmojuwono was also appointed as Military Bishop of Indonesia. Darmujowono participated until 1965, the Second Vatican Council of 1962. Pope Paul VI. took him on 26 June 1967 as cardinal priest with the pro hac vice levied for the titular church of the Most Holy Nome di Gesù title Diakonia e Maria in Via Lata on the College of Cardinals. Justin Darmojuwono participated in the two conclaves of 1978.

Pope John Paul II took on 3 July 1983 Darmojuwonos reasons of age pre- mounted resignation from the office of the Archbishop of Semarang. On December 31, 1983, the resignation was accepted by the Office of the Military Bishop of Indonesia.
