Juvénal Uwilingiyimana

Juvenal Uwilingiyimana ( * 1951 ();? † found on 17 December 2005 in Brussels ) was a Rwandan Minister of Trade.

Life

Juvenal Uwilingiyimana came from the prefecture of Gisenyi in the northwest of the country. In 1989 he was Minister of Commerce and in 1994 director of the state tourism authority.

Uwilingiyimana had been missing since November 22, 2005. In Rwanda, it should be before the UN tribunal for Rwanda ( ICTR) for his involvement in the 1994 genocide that took place in which he is said to have held a key role in the process are made. Since 1998 he lived in Belgium. The ICTR, based in Arusha had obtained an international arrest warrant against him on 13 August 2005. Until his disappearance he cooperated with investigators of the ICTR and dismissed all allegations. The cause of death could not yet be clarified.
