Júzcar
Juzcar is a town and municipality with 239 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013) in the province of Málaga of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. The village is located 25 kilometers from the small town of Ronda and 144 kilometers from the provincial capital.
Trivia
On the occasion of the world premiere of the movie The Smurfs June 16, 2011 in Juzcar all facades of the village were colored blue, including the church and grave stones. In a vote by the end of 2011, the residents were asked if the houses still remain blue or should be returned to its original state white. 33 residents voted against, 141 for residents. This Juzcar will remain blue and thus is considered the first smurf village in the world.
