JX Holdings K. K. (Japanese JXホールディングス 株式会社, JX Hōrudingusu Kabushiki - gaisha, Eng. JX Holdings, Inc. ) is a Japanese group of companies headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo Prefecture.

History

On 4 December 2008, the company Nippon Oil and Nippon Mining announced that they seek a merger. This merger created a new holding company to be created, which JX Holdings was formed. The signing of the Treaty reestablishment of the JX Group took place in December 2009, the foundation and the IPO on April 1, 2010.

Corporate Structure

The operating business is composed of the company JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation and JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation. The share of sales of the core business amounted to attend JX Oil & Energy 84.4 %, JX Oil & Gas Exploration 1.5% and JX Mining & Metals 9.8%.

Origin of the name

The name of the company is made up of J for Japan and X for the unknown challenges of the future together.
