K.F.C. Lommel S.K.

The K.F.C. Lommelse S.K. ( officially: Koninklijke Football Club Lommelse Sportkring ), known in German-speaking countries under the name SK LommelA, was a Belgian sports club from Lommel. Home games wearing the club since 1992 in the 12,500 -seat sports stadium from the Stedelijk.

History

In 1932 the club was under the name Lommelsche SK of players of the previously resolved Lommelsche VV founded; with the inclusion in the Royal Belgian Football Association ( KBVB ) the club received the stamnummer 1986. Fifteen years after the foundation was the Lommelsche SK in Lommelse S.K. renamed, 1968, he was named K.F.C. Lommelse S.K. In 2003, the club had eight games before season's end to file for bankruptcy and was disbanded after all the games had been canceled and the club was certain the first relegated.

After the dissolution of the remains of the association in the KVV were Overpelt Fabriek from Overpelt ( stamnummer 2554 ) integrated; through the merger of the club was K.V.S.K. United Overpelt - Lommel, which in turn seven years later with the KFC Racing Mol -Wezel linked from Mol. The thus created club Lommel United currently playing (as of April 2012) in the Second Division.B

Achievements

League membership

The SK Lommel was before the reform leagues in 1952 at the fourth-rate first provincial Limburg ( 1946-1947 ) and the Third Division ( 1947-1952 ). With the introduction of a fourth national league of the club back and forth between the Fourth Division (1952-1954, 1959-1964, 1967-1971) and the Limburg provincial level (1954-1959, 1964-1967, 1971-1978 ). In 1978, you could once again ascend to the Viertklassigkeit, three years later, the team celebrated promotion to the Third Division. 1987 was the SK Lommel for the first time since the Second World War, second-, and five years later even ascend in the makings. Between 1992 and resolution 2003, the team with the exception of the 2000/01 season played first-class, best finish was fifth place in 1997. Since the end of World War II, the club spent a total of ten years in the first and six years in the Second Division.

In the Coupe de Belgique was reached in 2001 after victories over URS Centre (5-0 ), K. Maasland Maasmechelen (2-0), Eendracht Aalst (2-0), RAA La Louviere (3-0 ) Sporting Lokeren ( 3-1 ) and KRC Genk (2:1 and 1:1 ), the final, where they defeated the KVC Westerlo 0:1. Two years earlier, you could win the League Cup, when the team defeated in the final Germinal Ekeren 2-0.

In 1997 and 1998 the SK Lommel was entitled to participate in the UEFA Intertoto Cup: In the first year you retired after one win and three draws in the group stage of the competition, while one failed in the second participation in the third round at Werder Bremen.
