Kaabong District

Kaabong is a district in north-eastern Uganda with 540,000 inhabitants. The capital is the same Kaabong.

The district is located in the subregion of Karamoja in the Northern Region. He was separated from the district of Kotido on 1 July 2005. It consists of a single district Dodoth and is divided into one municipality Kaabong and eight sub-districts, Karenga Kapedo, Lolelia, Kathile, Sidok, Kalapata, Kaabong and Loyoro.

Economy

The main economic activities are livestock farming, subsistence farming, development cooperation and tourism.
