Kaarlo Kangasniemi

Kaarlo Olavi Kangasniemi ( born February 4, 1941 in Kullaa, Leineperi, Ulvila ) is a former Finnish weightlifter.

Career

Kaarlo Kangasniemi came at age 16 in Pori for weightlifting. He came from a family with many children. From eight brothers were seven weightlifters. Kaarlo of these was the most successful, be only five years younger brother Kauko also had some international success. Kaarlos greatest achievement was the Olympic gold medal in 1968 in Mexico City in the middle heavyweight. Kaarlo was a member of the sports club Pori and employed at a school as a janitor.
