KabataÅŸ-Taksim Funicular

The Füniküler Kabataş -Taksim, briefly F1, is a propelled underground funicular ( Turkish füniküler of French funiculaire ) in the European part of the Turkish city of Istanbul. She was commissioned on 30 June 2006. Construction began on 27 September 2003. The funicular system comes from the Swiss company Garaventa. Operator is the urban transport company İstanbul Istanbul ulaşım.

The funicular railway connects the valley station located on the Bosphorus Kabataş with the mountain station at Taksim Square in the Beyoglu district. The route length is 558.49 m with a height difference of 74.95 m between the two stations. The maximum slope is 22.19 percent. The travel time is 110 seconds. A train can carry 375 travelers. The transport capacity is 7500 persons per hour.

At the station, there is a transition to the Taksim metro to 4 Levent, the historic funicular Taksim Tünel ( Nostaljik Tramvay ) and numerous bus lines. At the station there Kabataş connection to the tram ( med Tramvay ) towards the train station Sirkeci, Aksaray - Zeytinburnu - Bağcılar to the Bosphorus ferries and some bus routes.
