Kage Baker

Kage Baker ( born June 10, 1952 in Hollywood, California, † January 31, 2010 in Pismo Beach, California ) was an American science fiction and fantasy author.

Life

She was born in Hollywood, California and lived most of the time in Pismo Beach. Prior to her time as a writer, she worked in theater and taught Old English forms of speech.

She was known primarily through its cycle "The Company", which consists primarily of historical time travel novels. Her first short stories were published in Asimov 's Science Fiction in 1997, as well as her first novel, "In The Garden of Iden ". She was nominated again for several awards and won for her short novel The Empress of Mars Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award to. After her death, she was subsequently for her short novel The Women of Nell Gwynne 's ( German: The Women of Nell Gwynne ) awarded both the Nebula Award and the Locus Award.

Your first name unusual in English is a combination of the names of her two grandmothers, Kate and Genevieve.
