Kagi-Nawa

The Kagi Nawa (or grapple ) is a Japanese slashing weapon and at the same time a tool.

Description

The Kagi Nawa consists of a multi-prong metal hook on which an approximately 10 meter rope is attached. The armature usually consists of iron and is round in cross section or square. At the end an eyelet is usually placed, which serves for attachment of the cable.

Use

The Kagi Nawa was used by the Japanese soldiers to climb buildings and ramparts. He also served as a multi-purpose tool to secure, among other boats, at night to hang the armor or to tear obstacles. He was taken by the soldiers to the saddle.
