Kalhov

Kalhov ( German Kalhau, 1939-45: Galthof ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers southeast of Humpolec and belongs to Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Kalhov is Bohemian-Moravian Highlands on the southwestern slope of the Kalhovský vrch ( 693 m) in the source basin of the creek Hejšťský creek. South-east rises the Strážník (713 m) and in the southwest of Panský Kopec (601 m).

Neighboring towns are U Palánů, Pavlov u Herálce, Temnik and Slavníč in the north, Velešov and Zbinohy in the northeast, Větrný Jenikov in the east, Bethan and Obora in the southeast, Šimanov and Branišov in the south, Ústí in the southwest and Hejště, Vlčina and Krasoňov in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1226 along with other places in possession of a document confirming Honorius III. for the monastery Seelau. 1458, leaving George of Podiebrad the orphaned since the Hussite Wars Seelauer monastic estates Messrs. Trček of Lipa. 1601 sold the Trček the rule Jenikau with the town of Windy Jenikau and 22 villages on the originating from a patrician family ennobled Iglauer Matthias Stubegg Knights of Königstein ( Matyas Štubík z Königštejna ). The Stubegg sold it in 1619 to Magdalena Trček of Lobkowicz. During the Thirty Years' War impoverished the area and subsequently to foreign nobles alternated in rapid succession as the owner and sat recatholicisation the population. Under Johann Baptist Ritter von Minetti, the rule bought in 1719, began an economic and cultural boom. His legacy flowed into the secular foundation dominion fund Windy Jenikau, which ceded the rule below on lease to different owners. 1838 bought the counts of Rummerskirch the rule.

After the abolition of patrimonial Kalhau / Kalhov formed in 1850 a municipality in the district Deutschbrod. At the beginning of the 20th century Kalhov was assigned to the District Humpolec. Since 1961, the community is part of the Okres Jihlava.
