Kalininskaya, Krasnodar Krai

Kalininskaja (Russian Калининская ) is a Cossack village in the Krasnodar region of Russia with a population of 13,391 (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The village is located about 50 km as the crow north-northwest of the region administrative center of Krasnodar. It is located on the River Ponura, which is further downstream channels for irrigation purposes, and finally some 25 km north-west flows into the Angelinski Jerik, the extreme right arm in the delta of Kuban.

Kalininskaja is the administrative center of the Rajons Kalininski and seat and only town in the rural community Kalininskoje selskoje posselenije. Almost immediately southeast of the approximately equal number of inhabitants includes at scoring Staniza Starowelitschkowskaja, which also belongs to the Kalininski rayon.

History

1794, the settlement of Popownitscheski kurin was founded as one of the first 40 Cossack settlements in the Kuban region. It was initially located on the right bank of the Kuban and in 1808 moved to its present location at the Ponura. 1842 received the settlement as Popownitscheskaja the status of a Cossack village.

From 1924 to 1927, the Cossack village was rajon administrative seat of the short-lived Popownitscheski. On 31 December 1934 she was rajon center of the newly established Kaganowitscheski, named after the Soviet politician Lazar Kaganovich ( 1893-1991 ). On September 12, 1957 it was renamed the Rajons in Kalininski, after the formal head of state of the Soviet Union until his death in 1946, Mikhail Kalinin. At the same time the Cossack village was given its present name.

On 1 February 1963, the Rajon was temporarily dissolved until it was restored from parts of the Nachbarrajons on 5 April 1978.

Traffic

A little south-east of Kalininskaja, closer to Staniza Starowelitschkowskaja, located at kilometer 94 of the station Welitschkowka opened on this section in 1915 and electrified in 1987 railway Krymskaja - Timaschewskaja, part of long-distance western bypass of Krasnodar. The railway line follows the regional road 03K -015 Timashevsk - Poltavskaya.
