Kallakudi (Tamil: கல்லக்குடி Kallakkuṭi [ kal ː ː ʌk uɖi ), also Dalmiapuram, is an industrial city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in the district of Tiruchirappalli around 30 kilometers north-east of the district capital, Tiruchirappalli. The population is 12,000 ( 2011 census ).

Kallakudi is the site of a cement plant of the Group Dalmia Cement, which makes use of the rich limestone deposits in the area. 1953 Tamil nationalists protested against the fact that Kallakudi was renamed after the North Indian industrialist Ramakrishna Dalmia, founder of the Dalmia Group, in Dalmiapuram ( " Dalmia City "). For she put the renaming a symbol of the dominance of northern India towards the South represents a group of activists of the DMK out of the later Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi, painted over the name " Dalmiapuram " at the station shield and blocked the tracks before an arriving train. In the ensuing clashes with police two activists lost their lives, others were seriously injured. Karunanidhi was subsequently sentenced to a prison term of six months. After the DMK came to Tamil Nadu to the Government and M. Karunanidhi had become prime minister in 1969, Dalmiapuram was again renamed Kallakudi.
