Kamen Goranov

Kamen Losanow Goranow ( Bulgarian Камен Лозанов Горанов; born June 7, 1948 in klisura, Montana region, Bulgaria ) is a former Bulgarian wrestler.

Career

Kamen Losanow Goranow was a Bulgarian wrestler who appeared at the beginning of the 1970s in the list of winners of international tournaments and was used from 1973 by Bulgaria and in international championships. He wrestled exclusively in the Greco-Roman style and always in the heavyweight division, a weight class that ranged up to 100 kg body weight at the time.

His debut at an international championship he gave at the European Championship 1973 in Helsinki. He finished there in the heavyweight equal to an excellent 2nd place, defeating amongst other things the Romanian Olympic champion from 1972 Nicolae Martinescu and strong Poland Andrzej Skrzydlewski. In the final battle he lost against Nikolai Balboschin, the Soviet super- athletes of years, which was certainly no disgrace. Also at the World Championships in 1973 in Tehran, he was at the start and won there again Nicolae Martinescu, Andrzej Skrzydlewski and the former Hungarian champion, Ferenc Kiss. Against Nikolai Balboschin he had no chance again in the final and thus became vice - world champion.

In 1974, Kamen Losanow Goranow then managed his first title win. He was in Madrid with wins over Nicolae Martinescu, gates Hem from Norway and Fredi Albrecht from East European champions. In the battles of Andrzej Skrzydlewski against him and against Nikolai Balboschin were no reviews, so that each of the two wrestlers were disqualified in both fights. In the preliminaries, but Kamen Losanow had collected the fewest points of failure, so that he won this championship in front of Nikolai Balboschin. At the World Cup in 1974 in Katowice, he defeated among others Andrzej Skrzydlewski, Jozsef Farkas from Hungary and Nicolae Martinescu and wrestled draw against Fredi Albrecht. But against Nikolai Balboschin he lost again, this time and got away with it to 2nd place.

A big win was Kamen Losanow Goranow at the World Championships 1975 in Minsk, because he brought there the feat after victories over Bahram Moshtagi from Iraq, Fredi Albrecht defeat and Andrzej Skrzydlewski Nikolai Balboschin on points. Although he lost his last fight against Nicolae Martinescu, whom he had almost always defeated, but because it had lost to Balboschin, this defeat was meaningless. Kamen Losanow was against Nikolai Balboschin world champion.

At the European Championships in 1976 in Leningrad disappointed Kamen Losanow, because he came there after defeats against Nikolai Balboschin and spanked gates Hem from Norway, only the 4th place in the heavyweight division and remained so at an international championship for the first time without a medal. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal but he was back in better shape and there defeated Heinz Schäfer from the Federal Republic of Germany, and his old rival Nicolae Martinescu, gates Hem and Andrzej Skrzydlewski. Only towards Nikolai Balboschin he had again suffered a defeat, but won so the Olympic silver medal.

After these Olympics, he ended his international career Ringer.
