Kanas Lake

The Kanasi Lake (Chinese喀纳斯 湖, Pinyin Kanasi Hu) or Kanassee located in the Altai Mountains, in the Kazakh Autonomous County Ili in northern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, in the at an altitude of 1374 m. For centuries there have been reports of mysterious sea monsters, encroaching on horses and cattle in the region. 1985 were allegedly discovered fish with a length of up to 15 m and weighing up to 4 tons in this lake. In September 2004, another expedition was launched to the lake, the message went through the world press. From the results, however, nothing was further known.
