Kandia Kouyaté
Kandia Kouyaté (born 1958 in Kita, Mali West ) is a Malian Jelimuso ( singer, female griot ).
Life
Kouyatés career began in the early 1980s, when she began to rehearse female choral singing. Mory Kanté Salif Keïta and attacked this idea to implementation later and she became an integral part of Malian music. The title of her debut solo album is Kita Kan..
She received the prestigious title of Ngara awarded and is sometimes called La Dangereuse ( The Dangerous ). The singer is known for her love songs that make up the largest part of Kouyaté 's repertoire. She also sings praise songs.
