Kaori Ekuni

Kaori Ekuni (Japanese江 国 香 织, Ekuni Kaori, born March 21, 1964) is a Japanese writer.

Ekuni studied after the completion of the College on a small female short- time university. After working in a youth book publishing, she went for further studies in the USA, at the University of Delaware. She debuted in 1987 with tales for children, for which she received a Children's Book Award. With Kira kira hikaru the novel (1991 ), which became a bestseller in Japan, she won the 1992 Murasaki Shikibu - Prize for Literature. In the following years they emerged primarily as an essayist and author of sensitive portraits of young women. For Oyogu no ni Anzen demo tekisetsu demo arimasen she received the 2002 Yamamoto Shugoro price for Gōkyūsuru jumbi wa dekiteita 2003 Naoki Prize. In 2010 she was awarded the Chūōkōron Literature Prize for Mahiru nanoni kurai heya.
