Karasuk, Novosibirsk Oblast

Karassuk (Russian Карасук ) is a town in Novosibirsk Oblast (Russia) with 28 586 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located in the southeastern part of the West Siberian Plain, about 380 km west of the Oblasthauptstadt Novosibirsk, riverside Karassuk. The climate is continental.

The city is the administrative center of the Karassuk Rajons same name.

History

Karassuk was created in 1750 and was named after the river, whose name in turn originates from the Turkic languages ​​. In 1954, the site of a town.
