Karatsu Kunchi

Karatsu Kunchi (Japanese唐津 くんち; Kunchi called a festival which is celebrated on the 9th day of the 9th month ) is a Japanese festival that takes place annually in the city of Karatsu, Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyūshū. The festival begins on the evening of 2 November and lasts until November 4. It is characterized by daily parades of fourteen Hikiyama massive rafts in the form of samurai helmets ( kabuto ), sea bream, dragons and other fantastic creatures, made ​​of wood, paint and other materials. The three-day festival with 150000-500000 visitors is the biggest event in the region.
