Karel Dillen

Karel Dillen ( born October 16, 1925 in Antwerp, † 27 April, 2007 Shields -'s Gravenwezel ) was a Flemish nationalist and a Belgian politician.

1947 began his political career. In 1977 he founded the right Vlaams Nationale Partij, which passed into the Vlaams Blok in 1978. Dillen was for many years Chairman of the Vlaams Blok until 1996, when Frank Vanhecke replaced him.

Dillen was a member of the 3rd, 4th and 5th European Parliament. In 2003 he resigned for health reasons.

Dillen translated 1951, the controversial revisionist publication Nuremberg ou la terre promise (Nuremberg or the Promised Land ) by Maurice Bardèche (published in 1948). The translation appears to be Neurenberg, het beloofde country.

His son Koenraad Dillen and daughter Marijke Dillen are also active in the Vlaams Belang.
