Karel Å ebor

Karel Sebor ( born August 13, 1843 in Brandeis, † May 18 1903 in Royal Vineyards, Prague ) was a Czech composer.

Life

To the music led him his grandfather, a teacher, where he was also educated. At twelve, he first visited the Prague Conservatory, then headed by Jan Bedřich coat. In 1861 he took a job as a music teacher in the then Russian Poland, in 1863 he was offered the post of Kapellmeister theater in Erfurt. He remained there until 1865, when he was appointed second conductor of the State Theatre in Prague. Here are five written by him operas were premiered. In 1871 he left because of clashes with the Prague theater management and took the place of the first Kapellmeister in Lviv. Because of lack of success, he applied as conductor of the military band initially in the infantry troops in Košice. In the army he stayed for 20 years. Half a year before his death, he returned to civilian life and was appointed Kapellmeister city.
