Karel Tammjärv
Karel Tammjärv ( born May 25, 1989 in Tartu, Estonian SSR then, Soviet Union) is an Estonian cross-country skier.
Life and career
His first international assignment had Tammjärv 2007, in the Scandinavian Cup in domestic Jõulumäe, where he finished in 45th place on 10 km classic. At the European Youth Olympic Festival 2007 in Jaca, he ranked 23rd on 7.5 km classic and 30th place over 10 km freestyle. In 2008 he took part in the Junior World Championships in Mals. He missed the finals as the 38th in the sprint competition, finishing in 41st place about 10 km classic. About 20 km Freestyle ( mass start ), he was 52 and finished with the Estonian Season eleventh place. The following year he was able to increase his results significantly in Le Praz -de- Lys Sommand. In pursuit competition he won the eleventh place and was about 15 15 km freestyle. Also in the sprint competition he reached the quarter- finals and finished 26th with the Estonian team he finished sixth. Even in the Scandinavian Cup succeeded several times to run him into the points. His best result of the season was the eighth place about 10 km freestyle in Ulricehamn. In the Universiade in Harbin his best result was the 22nd place in the sprint competition. These good results season allowed him his first cap in the Cross Country World Cup. At the World Cup in Lahti, he resigned as 58th the qualification of the sprint competition and was 82 over 15 km freestyle. Also in the season 2009/ 10 started Tammjärv several times in the World Cup, but could only occupy seats in the back of the field.
