Karim Sanjabi

Karim Sandschabi (Persian کریم سنجابی; * September 1904 in Kermanshah, Persia Empire; † July 4, 1995 in Carbondale, Illinois) was an Iranian politician and member of the National Front.

The Kurdish Sandschabi was born in 1904 in Kermanshah and studied law and political science at the Sorbonne University. After that, he was Professor of Law at the University of Tehran.

Of 19 January 1952 to 6 February 1953, he was Minister of Education in the cabinet of Iranian Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh. From 1967 was Sandschabi Secretary General of the National Front, which he remained until 1988. After the violent Islamic revolution against the monarchy in 1979 Sandschabi was briefly foreign minister under Mehdi Bazargan, and, more particularly, from 11 February to 1 April this year.

1982 had Sandschabi was to leave the country because he criticized the newly formed Islamist dictatorship under Ruhollah Khomeini. Sandschabi was married to Fachrolmoluk Ardalan Sandschabi (September 7, 1921 - February 21, 2011 ) and had four children - three sons and a daughter.
