Karko people

The Karko (also Garko ) live in the Nuba Mountains in Sudan and among those black African nations, which are grouped under the name " Nuba ". The population of the Karko was in 1984 at 12,986, most of whom are Muslims and many are Arabized.

Their language is also called Karko and belongs to the Nilo-Saharan languages.

Mende Nazer is one of self-reported to the Karko Nuba.
