Karl Bartos

Karl Bartos ( born May 31, 1952 in Berchtesgaden ) is a German musician and former band member of Kraftwerk. Bartos has since been working as a musician, DJ, music producer and songwriter.

Life

Bartos first played in the Anthony String Group and together with Bodo Staiger and Marius Müller -Westernhagen for sine. From 1970 to 1976 he studied piano, vibraphone and percussion at the Robert - Schumann-Hochschule in Dusseldorf in Dusseldorf. A lecturer put you in touch with Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider, who were looking for a drummer for live performances by Kraftwerk. Bartos was founded in 1975 and was member of the band from 1978 Co - author of several titles, including the Tour de France, The Model and the phone call. From 1994, he worked with Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr together on the second album of the project Electronic Raise the Pressure. Clearly influenced by the collaboration with Electronic released in 1998 a solo album under the new name Electric Music. Since the summer semester 2004 Bartos teaches as guest professor at the University of Arts in Berlin Auditory Media Design at the Department of Sound Studies. In the same year he took part out of competition with the music video I'm the message to the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, where he sat on the jury.

In 2013 he released his album Off The Record with which he goes on tour for example in Berlin and Copenhagen. It debuted at # 44 in the German album charts and was referred to in the predominantly positive reviews " as the best plant - plate for 30 years ."
