Karl-Günther von Hase
Karl -Günther Paul Otto von Hase (* December 15, 1917 on Good Wangern, County Wroclaw, Lower Silesia ) is a former German diplomat and ZDF director.
Family
He is the son of Colonel of the State Police and Lieutenant Colonel Günther von Hase (1881-1948) and the Ina Hicke animal ( 1882-1972 ).
Hare married remotely ceremony on 13 February 1945 and ecclesiastically, after his release from captivity, on December 30, 1949 in Rendsburg ( Schleswig -Holstein) the nurse Renate Stumpff ( born March 15, 1925 in Königsberg, East Prussia, † July 26 2011 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg), the daughter of Colonel General Hans -Jürgen Stumpff and Ilse Grapow. The couple has five daughters.
Today he lives in a town house in Bonn's Schweinheim.
Life
After graduating from the Berlin Prinz Heinrich Gymnasium in Berlin- Schöneberg and use in the Reich Labor Service resigned from rabbit 1936 as an ensign of the Artillery Regiment 19 in the Wehrmacht and was a career officer. From 1936 to 1937 he attended the military school in Potsdam. As part of the defense against a Soviet infantry attack he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. In 1943 he completed the General Staff Course in Hirschberg. After the failed assassination attempt of July 20, 1944 ( he was the nephew of a resistance fighter Paul von Hase was ) he was taken into custody. From 1945 to 1949 he was in Soviet captivity. According to his own statements was his true inclination, at later times, the old become professional soldiers.
In 1950 he joined the Diplomatic School in Speyer, then he was appointed to the Foreign Office. There was of Hare from 1958 Head of Press and Public Relations.
From 1 July 1962 to 14 November 1967, he was Head of the Press and Information Office of the Federal Government ( Government spokesman ) as Secretary of State. Between 1967 and 1979, CDU member of hare. On 14 July 1967, elected by Hare Intendant of the Deutsche Welle, which he left in mid-October, however, again to be used in place of Karl Carstens to 1969 State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Defence.
From 1970 to 1977 he was German Ambassador in London. In 1977 he left the diplomatic service and was until 1982 Director of the ZDF. He was also active as an author and editor; he is co-editor of the book The soldiers of the Wehrmacht. In 1967 he was awarded the Medal for Combating Deadly Seriousness.
