Karlinbach

The Karli Bach is a 17 kilometer long tributary of the Reschensee in South Tyrol. The Karli creek drains the Langtauferer valley in the Oetztal Alps. The catchment area covers 110 square km and a height range of 3738 m on the white ball to 1498 m at Reschensee. The Karli river is strongly influenced by glaciers, is geologically the catchment area is predominantly composed of mica schists and paragneisses.

The Karli creek flows from the glacier tongue of Langtauferer Ferner. Other glaciers in the catchment area are bear beard Further and free Brunner addition. An important tributary is the Rieglbach. In Melag, the highest inhabited village in Langtauferer valley, waters of the Karli creek is diverted to generate electricity.
