Karlıova

Karlıova (Kurdish: Kanîreş ) is a town and district of Bingöl Province in Turkey. The Kurdish name means Black source. The Turkish name means Snowy level. The county was founded in 1934.

The district is located in the northeast of the province and covers an area of ​​1311 km ². It borders the provinces of Erzurum and Muş.

The district has 32 ​​426 inhabitants Karlıova (as of 2011). About one-fifth lives ( 6,254 inhabitants) in the city Karlıova.

Zazaki and Kurmanji are the most common languages ​​of the region.
