Károly Makk

Károly Makk ( born December 22, 1925 in Berettyóújfalu ) is a Hungarian film director and screenwriter. He wrote, among other things, the films The other view, which tells the story of a lesbian love in the time after 1956, and the film Szerelem (English Love). For his feature film Macskajáték he was nominated in 1974 for best foreign language film for an Oscar. Five times were his films at the International Film Festival of Cannes in competition for the Palme d'Or.
