Karpfenteich
The bird carp pond consists of three due to inflows and outflows connected parts, which lies in the western part of the bird forest. The lower pond (I) has a small island that serves many birds as nesting place because of the location. The main flow via a pipe connection from the Bogensee. Outflow is via a lock in the Lietz ditch which leads to Panke.
Depending on the inflow and precipitation, the extent of the ponds varies greatly. The entire area around the pond is shallow, swampy and promotes the formation of peat.
