Kat Edmonson

Kat Edmonson ( born August 3, 1983 in Houston, Texas; actually Katherine Edmonson ) is an American singer and songwriter.

Life

Kat Edmonson grew up as an only child with a single mother in Houston, Texas. Her mother introduced her to records, films and musicals with the Great American Songbook classics of American popular music from the 1930s to the 1960s. So she acquired her jazz repertoire. Their music combines elements of various genres such as Jazz, Folk, Acoustic Rock, Bossa Nova, country and pop. She describes her music style as "Vintage Pop ". Kat Edmonson wrote her first song at the age of nine years.

In 2002 she arrived in participating in the second season of American Idol under the last 48 participants. Then she moved to Austin, Texas and decided to become a professional musician. After years as a singer in the local club scene in 2009, she released her self-financed debut album "Take To The Sky", which reached the Top 20 on the Billboard jazz charts. A duet of the classic " Baby, It's Cold Outside " with Lyle Lovett led to a joint appearance on The Tonight Show from Jay Leno and a tour opening for Lovett. In 2010 she performed at the Taichung Jazz Festival in Taiwan.

Your 2012 published second album, " Way Down Low" they could finance with a Kickstarter campaign. " Way Down Low" reached number 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and helped it to a TV recording at Austin City Limits Live. In spring 2013, the first U.S. tour followed with 11 concerts as a headliner. In the summer of 2013 Kat Edmonson was seen at several jazz festivals in Europe, including the Montreux Jazz Festival. In the opening act for Jamie Cullum she toured in the fall of 2013 through the Netherlands, Germany, Portugal, Spain and France.
