Kat Von D

Kat Von D ( Katherine von Drachenberg in fact, born March 8, 1982 in Monterrey, Mexico) is an American tattoo artist, television actress and author. She became internationally known for her participation in the reality television series Miami Ink and LA Ink It operates a tattoo studio called High Voltage Tattoo in West Hollywood.

Life

Kat Von D paternal comes from a family of German origin. Her father René von Drachenberg and her mother Sylvia Galeano Spanish-Italian born in Argentina. The parents were working as missionaries in Mexico.

The family moved to Colton over in California, when Kat Von D was four years old. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

At the age of 14, she broke off their studies and settled on the ankle her first tattoo, the letter J prick. In 1998 she began in her first Sin City Tattoo to work. Kat Von D has tattooed all over the body, including the face, it has the side of the eye tattoos.

Kat Von D in 2007 was canceled at Miami Ink. In 2009 she published her first book High Voltage Tattoo with photos of Lionel Deluy, which reached # 6 of the New York Times bestseller list. It was released in the same year in the German translation by Thorsten Wortmann Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf Verlag. The Tattoo Chronicles, an autobiographical work with Sandra Bark, also appeared at Schwarzkopf & Schwarzkopf in the translation of Madeleine lamp and Thorsten Wortmann. Her third book Go Big or Go Home, which is also autobiographical nature, published on April 16, 2013 together with Sandra Bark. The German translation of its third plant is not yet available.

Kat von D is also appreciated by many celebrities as an artist. Her clients have included, among others, Lady Gaga, which she tattooed in 2011, and Miley Cyrus who has 2013 engraved a tattoo of her grandmother.

Her marriage with the tattoo artist Oliver Peck was divorced in 2007. From 2012-2013 Von D had a relationship with the Canadian DJ deadmau5.
