Katherine Esther Jackson ( born Screws and later Scruse ) ( born May 4, 1930 in Barbour County, Alabama, United States) is the ex - wife of Joseph Jackson and the mother of Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Brandon ( stillbirth, twin brother of Marlon ), Michael ( 1958-2009 ), Randy and Janet Jackson.
Childhood
Born as Kattie B. Screws in Barbour County, Alabama, she is the daughter of Martha Mattie Upshaw and Prince Albert Screws. Katherine Jackson's father later changed his name to Scruse, so that its name was changed to Katherine Esther Scruse when she was four years old.
